I wasn't aware of this, either ... must be different physiological stuff going on than overhand baseball. I talked to one of the first baseman's relatives last night and she said that in high school they played like 6 games in a day in high school so this is nothing! That's pretty crazy. Also their pitcher wasn't a power pitcher she was more of a off-speed pitcher, her pitches had a lot of spin on them, and that is why she could pitch for so long and so many pitches. Softball underhand pitching is a natural motion.....baseball overhand pitching is not.....just emulate the motions and you will see which one feels more natural

Usually pitchers do not play that much but since they had no other pitchers worth pitching they had to ride this girl the whole way. Their second best pitcher was also their starting first baseman so it would have been difficult to throw her in the series. Galati has earned so much respect from me and all of the students who were at the game but throwing a pitcher for that long can not be healthy. That was one of the main points the TV announcers were saying yesterday. Hofstra has, pretty much, only 1 pitcher... Shes AWESOME. But after that, the quality goes WAYYY down. Which is why they rely on her so much. Then they compared it to USF and how Eriksen develops a pitching committee, that while Nevins is our ace, they have 2 other pitchers they can safely rely on if anything goes wrong.
