Figured I'd make a master list of schools looking for coaches, and we can all play armchair AD on who should get hired where.

Here's the list I have after Black Sunday. As usual, 3-4 coaches got the axe today after many losing teams' last game of the season.

Here you go:

Arizona - Mike Stoops out; Rich Rodriguez in.

Arizona State - Dennis Erickson not out yet, but sources say is expected.

UCLA - Rick Neuheisel not out yet; rumored will happen after they lose to Oregon and end up 6-7 and may not go to a bowl.

Washington State - regardless of improvement this year, Paul Wulff is on hot seat.

UAB - Neil Callaway out

Tulane - Bob Toledo out

Memphis - Larry Porter out

Akron - Rob Ianello out

Florida Atlantic - Howard Schnellenberger retires

New Mexico - Mike Locksley out; Bob Davies in.

Ole Miss - Houston Nutt out

Kansas - Turner Gil out

Illinois - Ron Zook out

Ohio State - Jim Tressel gone; Luke Fickell interim

Penn State - Joe Paterno out; Tom Bradley interim

North Carolina - Butch Davis out; Everett Whithers interim

Typical list of coaches' names thrown out for job openings:

Mike Leach - comes up for just about every job

Kirby Smart - DC at Alabama

Gus Malzahn - OC at Auburn

Chris Petersen - HC at Boise State

Butch Jones - mentioned in possible searches at UCLA (if/when) and Illinois

Urban Meyer - Ohio state rumors

Butch Davis - regardless of just being released, is a heck of a recruiter and coach

Paul Rhoads - HC at Iowa State; hasn't been uber great, but has done what Chizik couldn't do, has been mentioned for Illinois job

Charlie Strong - HC at Louisville; great defensive mind and recruiter; has been mentioned for several jobs; still believe he's off limits; wants to forge own path at UL

Larry Fedora - HC at Southern Mississippi; has done well; could get attention from Ole Miss

Jim Tressel - won't stay out of coaching, but will have to re-enter at lower level school; mentioned for Akron job

Mario Cristobal - name has turned up here and there for his work at FIU

Ralph Friedgen - former Maryland HC; could find himself coaching again

Kevin Sumlin - gets mentioned for every job as well

Feel free to throw out other names, as I haven't kept up with all the OC/DC names that get thrown out there.

It's gonna suck major balls to be a DC in the Pac 12. Chip Kelly, Rich Rod, Mike Leach...and a chance of Butch Jones, Kevin Sumlin, or Chris Petersen being mentioned for UCLA job. LOL

Most coaches that get fired from the big programs find jobs at smaller schools or as assistant coaches at another big school.

Calvin Magee and two other assistants have left Pittsburgh to join Rich Rod at Arizona.

Lets just say if Holtz does leave for a hypothetical question. who replaces him? I like the idea of John Gruden he is from the area and loves Tampa. What do yall think?
