"The freshmen are as talented as advertised. Lots of buzz about newcomers in Vero on both sides of the ball -- receiver Andre Davis getting the most on offense, with cornerback Kenneth Durden drawing praise as well. They're probably the two most assured of playing this fall, but there could be a lot more -- the injury to Jeff Hawkins moves Tye Turner up a slot at tight end (though walk-on Jake Carlton caught a ton of passes) and the departure of Brandon Wilkinson puts Clavion Nelson one notch higher on the depth chart."...

Always happy to hear our freshman making some noise on the field.  This is great for recruits to see, because our top talent often picks us over a UF or FSU to see early playing time.

I was hoping that Turner would see some playing time. He certainly has the ability.

He was on the 2nd team yesterday night

Is Griffin consistently with the first team WR's? I remember him being behind T-Rex because of the dropsies he had in the spring.

Similar, but an All Star is tangible.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
