Phillips cancels visit to UF: Glades Central senior safety Randy Phillips, rated one of the state's top defensive backs, was "impressed" by the home visit he received from new Florida coach Urban Meyer last week, but Phillips said he has decided to cancel his scheduled visit to Gainesville this coming weekend because he wants to play in the Outback all-star game.
"This is for fun," Phillips said of the annual game that showcases the area's top seniors. "It's an all-star game, so you can't be too serious, but I'm going to dance and put on a show."
Miami coach Larry Coker has to be glad to hear of Phillips' decision to shun the Gators since Phillips has made an oral commitment to UM. But oral commitments are non-binding, and Phillips and Glades Central teammate Rashaad Duncan caught a flight to Tampa following the Outback luncheon Friday afternoon for an official visit to South Florida. Phillips said he also plans to visit FSU the weekend of Jan. 28.

Belle Glade (Fla.) Glades Central safety Randy Phillips was scheduled to visit Florida this weekend. There was only one problem with that, he had also scheduled a visit to South Florida, where he went instead. Are the Gators still in the picture?

Look, I love Brad too, and what he does here is amazing. Ã‚Â That doesn't mean though that I can't seek Bulls info elsewhere and participate in other communities of Bulls fans.

Hey NB, I love ya too. Ã‚Â Thanks. Ã‚Â If people want to join Rivals they will. Ã‚Â I was a member at one time...I did it out of supporting all things Bull. Ã‚Â But, why do you say it would be "further supporting USF athletics (emphasis added) by joining the Rivals site"? Ã‚Â That seems a bit peculiar.

In any event, I think most people do what they can - just like with merchandise purchases, some spend like crazy (my category) and other's don't (saner folks).

Either way, neither of our posts really contributed to the topic, so I will stop now. Ã‚Â ;D

I'm tired of hearing all of the advertisements here for Rivals. Hopefully we will be hearing some verbals from that group in the days that follow. Namely, Carlton Hill, and the Miami Norland Trio.

Well, we could have had one guy, but we didn't offer him:

One recruit who could have joined the Bulls today will not. Chub Small, a running back from Auburndale who committed last year but did not qualify academically, was not offered a scholarship this time.

Small, now qualified after a semester at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, will choose between Toledo and Marshall.

Nice to see we will have 25 scholarships to give out this year.

Wow That's surprising. I didnt post this earlier because it is somewhat hearsay but as you know I am from Sarasota, and I know a kid that goes to Sarasota H.S. and plays football there. He is friends with Mike Ford, and he told me last week that he has taken FSU out of the mix, he does not want to go there at all. He wants to go the Miami, however because of thier limited sholarships this year he doesnt know if thier offer will come. He went on to say that Ford told him that he does want to stay in Florida so if he doesnt get the offer from Miami USF is #2.

As I said this is hearsay but it is from a good source, and that fact that we opted not to give a scholarship to a great RB like Chubb Small tells me that maybe CJL knows about this too and that it in fact may be true. Or maybe there is someone else in the mix we don't know about.

I just read that Mike Ford was LIKELY to get his grades in order to qualify. That has been a problem for him.
