5'11" and ran a 4.97 40 at camp, yikes. Maybe it was just a bad day

He is ranked #82 OLB nationally by Scout and was recruited by WVU, Conn and NC state. Somebody's liking on the young man. Would love to see him as a Bull. I agree with Mama, we need some LB recruits in this class. I's great to see some of these players commit early too, shows a level of commitment that some of the late season hocus pocus doesn't.

Another good thing about maybe getting Plummer is that Gionni Paul and him were best buds at the SuperBULL camp.

At 215 lbs and 5'11'', I'd say that's a pretty solid time.

Just watch his video on YouTube.  I don't care what his reported 40 time is, he was in the other teams' backfield so fast it looked like he was the RB.  This dude is a speed demon.

Normal

For an outside LB? Your out of your mind. Hopefully it was an anomaly, but 4.97 for a guy that size would be considered horrid.

4.97 would be perfect if he was playing in the Big 10.

LB's at the NFL combine average between 4.6-5.0. Josh Hull-Penn State 7th round draft pick right behind George Selvie ran a 4.91 at the combine. This young man's time is nothing to worry about. I have never seen a LB run 40 yards in a football game in my life. It's not a useless stat but it isn't the be all to end all either.
