Tranghese admits he sees no way the Big Ten would expand beyond 12, makes no financial sense. Then he says the Big East, will be fine as long as they don't take more than one school. I think he is correct and I think this is all much ado about nothing.

This is what is going to happen.

Big Ten takes Rutgers.

Pac-10 takes Utah & BYU. (That is to shut up Orin Hatch)

Big East takes one of the following: TCU, ECU, UCF, Memphis

That's it. Expansion talk over. Nothing will have changed. The Pac-10 and Big 10 will make more money. The Big East is the same in football or better if they take TCU, same in Basketball or better if they select Memphis.

Also if my above post comes to fruition, then the BCS would have effectively destoyed the Mountain West conference and thus shut up the main dissenting voice against the BCS.
