Bulls 'definitely' in hunt for Georgia LB Taylor

Who could be this year's last-day recruiting steal for USF football? A year ago, it was cornerback Kayvon Webster, and one possibility this season is Michael Taylor, a linebacker from Atlanta currently committed to Florida.

"He still is committed to Florida, but USF is definitely in the picture," said Greg Minnis, his coach at Atlanta's Westlake High. "He's still intrigued by South Florida, and they did recruit him from pretty early in the process."

Taylor, 6 feet and 208 pounds, is rated as a four-star linebacker by Rivals.com, which ranks him as the nation's No. 3 inside linebacker; Scout.com gives him three stars and rates him the No. 10 middle linebacker in the country. Minnis said Taylor has 30 or more offers, including national powers such as Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech, but said USF has done a strong job recruiting him, especially assistant Kevin Patrick. He said Taylor runs a legit 4.5 in the 40, but his speed isn't his best asset.

"He's passionate ,and he's very, very intelligent," Minnis said. "He plays very fast -- 128 tackles -- and he led our team in tackles for loss."

USF has picked up two commitments from Georgia players in the past week, from LaGrange quarterback Jamius "Jay" Gunsby and Thomasville safety Reshard Cliett. Keep checking back for more on USF's recruiting in the last 24 hours leading up to Wednesday's signings.

6'0 208 MLB. Can he gain 15 lb by summer camp? Sound like he can start right away. Have him at middle, Barrington at OLB.
