I'm planning to do a lot of grilling for dinner and want to know if anyone recommends a cook book for different ideas.

Don't have a specific cook book, but I've tried these recipes and they're pretty good:

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/the-ultimate-barbecued-chicken-recipe/index.html

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/grilled-chicken-with-garlic-herb-dressing-and-grilled-lemon-recipe/index.html

However, I usually just cut out the backbone of the chicken and flatten it out, as opposed to cutting it up in pieces.

Hope this helps some.

I have a quick recipe for you.  Take equal parts of olive oil and citrus juice (lime, lemon, or key lime).  Add your favorite seasonings.  Marinate cleaned shrimp (shells on) for 10 - 20 minutes.  Skewer shrimp and grill 2 - 3 minutes on each side.

Weber's grill cook book is good and has some great ideas... although I will say some of them are rather silly, I mean I know it is a grill but when you pretty much turn it into a oven it really isn't grilling just a heat source, might as well just use an oven.

I find the Weber's grill cookbooks to be exceptional.

Grilling = cooking over direct heat

Barbecuing = cooking over indirect heat

Both have their places, and when done right, the end result of either will turn out a fantastic meal.  BBQ adds an entire different flavor to meats than oven roasting...especially when using charcoal and/or wood, and if you opt to throw in wood for smoking.

Not to mention tending to a grill with the game on outside and beer in hand is much more satisfying than tending to the oven inside...unless it's raining :)

But to answer the original Q, I like to grab some NY strips with good marbling, put a solid coat of kosher salt and freshly ground pepper on each, spray them with olive oil, then throw those bad boys on there.
