RG,

that Detroit/Toronto drive is ROUGH that time of year, it's like 250 miles or so, but can be very icy and slow. I've done it and it took 6+ hours. I'd suggest flying to Buffalo

I think my brother and I are going to be taking a train from Windsor (across the border from Detroit) to Toronto.  It's about $113 per person round trip.

What about Amtrack? They advertise at the games?

Amtrak is a pain in the ....I just spent a lot of time on their site looking at routes from Phoenix to Toronto and Tampa to Toronto.  Not a user-friendly site at all.

I would think USF could look into chartering a few buses for students.  If you can fill the bus I'd bet you could do it for close the same price as Greyhound and it would be a lot faster (not nearly as many extra stops).  The added benefit of being surrounded by die hard bulls fans (instead of folks that just got released from prison).  I guess not many students would be willing to fork out $200 to spend 40 or so hours round-trip on a bus.  Can't blame them there.

Ok...so i know most of you are floridians and arent used to public transportation, or know what that even is.  But...PEOPLE USE BUSSES in the NORTH!!!

WOW!!! BELIEVE THAT!!!

lol

I'm from here and was SURPRISED at how NORMAL it was to use the bus in the northeast.

So...believe it or not...Bus travel is not CRAZY!!!

But I like where your head is USFGrouper.  USF SHOULD get a thing with greyhound and see if they could fill a bus, or three.

But...USF is...USF, and they prolly won't have the brains to think of such an excellent idea.  Lets face it...their promotion and push for travel to away games is pretty lame, if not NON-exsistent!!!

Oh well...

GO BULLS!!!

People also ride buses in the Southeast and Southwest, I spent 29 years in the Northeast and never rode a Greyhound, Trailways etc. Buses were the bottom of the barrel of travel, after Airlines and Railroads.   20 hr bus rides are for those who are afraid to fly or can't afford to.

You are wrong about USF,  USF has offered chartered bus trips to football games many times...IE.  I believe there were 10 or more buses that went to the first UCF game in Orlando, and there were buses to the game at BHNS also.

BTW, people do ride the bus in Florida...about 20 of them went to a watery grave on May 9, 1980 when their Greyhoundb bus went off the Sunshine Skyway Bridge when it collapsed into Tampa Bay.

charter the bus, fill up the back with kegs of beer, throw in a couple of boomboxes, and hit the road with a 20-hour rolling party

lot worse ways to get to a game...

just buy tickets to make USF look good. Donate 20% of what you'd have to spend on traveling to the athletics department.

view from couch.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
