If Notre Dame ever does decide to join a conference it will be the Big Ten, regardless of their ties to the Big East for basketball. The Big Ten makes way more sense geographically, plus they already play 3-4 Big Ten teams anyway. The Big Ten really wants 12 so that they can have a championship game.

The Big East better watch out for a raid of Pitt, they make a ton of sense for the Big Ten also.....

I know it would never happen, but I'd really like to see the Big East and ACC do a little team swappin' to better match up with geography

ACC could become more of a southern conference:

Florida State

Miami

USF

Louisville

WVU

Virginia Tech

UVA

Georgia Tech

Clemson

UNC

NC State

Wake Forest

Big East could become more of a Northeastern Conference

UCONN

Pitt

Rutgers

Boston College

Maryland

Syracuse

Cincy

Duke

The ACC (in this case) would be totally badass.

Um, how is Duke (in Durham, North Carolina) in the northeast?

If you're familiar with the makeup of Duke's student body, it makes sense. But I agree with those who said there's no way UNC/Duke are breaking up.

I already said it would never happen. Feasibility or likelihood of it happening is not part of the equation. I was basically trying to pack the ACC full of good football programs.

I included Duke because I had to put 8 in the Big East. Duke or WF both seemed like good matches. Who should go instead?

Besides, it's not like Duke and UNC couldnt play because they're in different conferences. UF-FSU ring a bell? How about GT-UGA?

True, but the primary concern for Duke-UNC is not football, it's basketball. Not having a home-and-home each year with each other is not an option.
