It is awfully strange to fire a guy after two years. ECU hasn't been good lately, but they weren't THAT awful.

I guess losing to a team that lost to Army was more then the ECU faithful could stand and heads had to role.

I'm not surprised by this one bit. I mean their game against us was the epitome of stupid coaching. After the first quarter I thought i was watching a circus in ECU instead of a D-IA football team. Very good decision by ECU, better to get rid of him now and start trying to implement a new system, then suffer a couple more terrible seasons. That declined penalty call that set us up for 3rd and long in which we converted and scored is enough for me to say can the guy  ;D

If this firing is about ECU being passed over for the Big East, they're dead wrong. The Big East simply never wanted ECU, and firing the coach isn't going to change that.

CardFanatic, I do think that if the BE splits on FB/non-FB lines, that ECU would be invited to join the football side.
