UCF was 1st to offer, but Desoto's Marcus Shaw has USF on top for now

Perhaps somebody needs to forward the UCF coaching staff phone numbers to Marcus Shaw.

Well, actually, he probably has been back in touch by now, but the 5-foot-9, 187-pound all-purpose back out of Desoto High in Arcadia changed phones shortly after UCF offered him a scholarship back in late June. With the phone change, he apparently lost all of his phone numbers and had not been back in contact with the Knights.

In the meantime, he seems to have gotten plenty of voice time with the South Florida staff. Shaw told USFNation.com this weekend that the Bulls are currently No. 1 on his list, but of course it is still early. Also courting Shaw with offers are Indiana, Iowa State, Syracuse, Tulane and FIU.

Shaw ran for nearly 2,500 yards as a junior and he told Rivals.com that he is looking to stay close to home for college. Shaw rushed for 2,380 yards and 35 touchdowns as a junior.

"The biggest thing for me is I want to play and I want to stay close to home," he said. "I'm going to be patient. I'm not going to commit early."

He plans to visit UCF, USF and Florida for official visits, but all plans are tentative.

Great numbers regardless but not the toughest schedule... Comparable to Adrian Golden who played for Gulf last season and is now at Tarpon Springs... Crazy stats - no competition. (besides Pasco anyway but Gulf lost to them twice). Just my input - kid may be a baller though. Any film?? I still really wish USF would go after Drake.. - 6' 205 pound beast.
