I hope he gets a chance to watch the replay of the USF-FSU game.  ;)

Christian Green visits Georgia, but UF, FSU and USF still very much in the mix

Sentinel Staff Writer

September 28, 2009

TAMPA - Christian Green knows just about everything he needs to about Florida, Florida State, South Florida and Georgia, the quartet of schools he intends to choose from in the recruiting process.

"Now, he wants to be spend some time around the players," Hiram Green, the father of Sentinel prospect No. 13, said Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback from Tampa Catholic took an official visit to Georgia over the weekend and was on hand to see the Bulldogs beat Arizona State _ between those glorious hedges _ on a field goal as time expired. The night before, Green was in Orlando helping his Crusaders, a serious contender for the Class 2B title, defeat Lake Highland Prep 25-20. Green rushed three times for 74 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

The trip to Athens, according to his father, did not necessarily reshuffle Green's order of preference. Right now, they're even.

He's still wide open to all four schools, still wants to play wide receiver at the next level, and still wants to get a chance to do some of the Wildcat thing. Having seen what Green is capable of doing from the shotgun, the Gators, Seminoles, Bulldogs and Bulls are just fine with all that. For those who haven't seen him, Green is ranked by Rivals as No. 3 "Athlete" prospect in the nation.

At UGA, Green was welcomed by Coach Mark Richt, who was on the FSU staff when Green's Uncle E.G. was a standout wide receiver for the Seminoles in the mid-1990s.

"He has the utmost respect for the Georgia program," Hiram Green said. "And all the respect in the world for Coach Richt."

In Athens, Green wanted to hear first-hand from the players what the school, program and campus are all about. He hung out with homeboy buddy Orson Charles, who helped lead Tampa Plant to the Class 4A state championship last season and is now seeing significant time as a true freshman tight end for the Bulldogs.

For now, Green hasn't booked any more official visits; and may not. He's already so familiar with all three state schools (his mom graduated from FSU; his father played basketball and now works at USF), so now it may just be about sorting things out and making a decision.

Or things could change.

"I think he still wants to go and hang around the players [at each school]," Hiram Green said. "And he may be in the middle of it all one day and all of a sudden say, 'I want to get it over with.' But right now he's going about the process."

Could you imagine him in the Toro Loco? Good lord, that would be sweet.

"wants to get a chance to do some of the Wildcat thing."

He certainly would get the chance at USF to do that. Daniels and him running the Toro Loco would really be a wild thing to watch!  ;D
