I think I readd that if they sent him down for a portion of the year it delays arbitration for a year.

Youre correct much like they did with Longo and if I remember correctly its the first 13 or 18 days of the season he needs to be down which would be the 18rd or 23rd of this month. Whe should know something by May.

neimann should get a  shot at closer.  price has too much potential as a front of the rotation starter.

It was purely a financial decision, that so important Arbitration clock doesn't start ticking if he's playing in Triple A for a month or 2, that's life as a small market team

Its a smart move for the Rays, it may keep Price in a Rays uniform an extra season. They have tons of young guys they will have to make some tough decisions on in the next few years.
