Deadline for submitting nominations for the 2009 USF Alumni Awards is January 30th

Since 1976, the University of South Florida Alumni Association has recognized outstanding USF alumni and community leaders who have made significant contributions to the University and the community.  A brief description of each award is listed below:     

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS AWARD

Recognizes a USF graduate who has reached the pinnacle of success in his/her career.

CLASS OF ’56 AWARD

Recognizes a non-USF graduate who has provided outstanding service to the University of South Florida and the community.

DONALD A. GIFFORD ALUMNI SERVICE AWARD

Recognizes a USF graduate who has provided countless hours of service to the University of South Florida.

OUTSTANDING YOUNG ALUMNUS AWARD

Recognizes a USF graduate, age 35 or younger, for his/her outstanding professional achievements and engagement to USF.

In resume form, please provide the following information about the nominee, being as descriptive as possible.  You are strongly encouraged to submit resumes, letters of recommendations, news articles, etc. in addition to the nomination form.

C. Service to USF/USF Alumni Association:  Participation in activities and/or organizations involving the University of South Florida

Factors to consider when submitting a nomination form:

• Members of the USF Alumni Association Board of Directors shall not be considered eligible for any of the award categories during their term of service.

• Persons holding elective political office shall not be considered eligible for any of the award categories during their term of office.

• Class of ’56 Award:  Consideration of full-time USF employees shall not occur until after retirement or resignation.

• Donald A. Gifford Alumni Service Award:  Full-time USF employees are eligible.

• Outstanding Young Alumnus Award:  Nominees must not have reached age 36 by January 1st of the award presentation year.

• Eligibility is limited to living persons
