Typical big-shot schools lose once (sometimes ugly) and you move them down a few notches. USF, with an INJURED defensive line, gets booted out of the power rankings for a last-minute loss. How do you sleep at night?-- Gerald, TampaI have had some trouble sleeping lately -- but I'm 99.9 percent certain it has nothing to do with USF's poll ranking. You have my word on that. If you read Tuesday's Power Rankings, you know I've already jumped off the Jayhawks' bandwagon. Todd Reesing is a great quarterback, but this year's Kansas defense is nowhere near the same level as last year's. They've been shredded by the only two legit QBs they've faced, USF's Matt Grothe and Iowa State's Austen Arnaud. That doesn't bode well with Sam Bradford, Graham Harrell, Colt McCoy and Chase Daniel still to come.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/10/08/cfb.mailbag/
