Beating USF = Running up the middle + Blitzing Matt Grothe

all you gotta do is practice all week on a variation of those TWO simple concepts and you have a formula for beating us.  on the home, on the road, on thursday, friday, or saturday night.  it doesnt matter.  our coaching staff needs to:

a) RECRUIT better players to be able to adjust to these changes of the game

ADJUST to these changes in the game with better playcalling

otherwise, its gonna be the same crap year in and year out for us.

How about throw a slant pass, hot read to slow down the blitz?

UCF killed us with that slant and our coaches did not learn a D&*% thing.

it seemed on every third down they brought the house.

Because he CLEARLY cannot see what even us armchair QB's can see.

His ability to make adjustments is more suited for high school ball........JV, that is, of course.

they need to start blitzing grothe in practice.  he seems to fold when forced to make a quick pass and has no running lanes to scramble into.

They brought the house when we went 5-wide.  Everytime.  Aftwe the first 3 times we should have dumped that playcall.

Hate to say I told you so, but......... Don't remember which thread it was earlier but I said that is what happens and it continues to happen.  Matt needs to throw it high and long down the sideline because you have man to man coverage on those blitzes.  Get rid of it quickly and let someone make a play down the field.  The slants don't work because a) they are playing tight man to man and our receivers never break a tackle which reminds me to start a new topic.
