Norton Ghost is the standard for ghosting software. I have moved to a new hard drive on my work laptop and experienced some issues moving my D drive. Mainly because of some specialty software that I use had huge numbers of XML files and it kept timing out. I was able to restore the C with no issues and finally the D after I did it in pieces.

If you get Norton and run into issues give me a heads up and I will see if I can assist.

I have a computer business on the side and for registry cleaning I use Registry Mechanic.  It's solved many of my client's computer problems.  For doing drive imaging I use Acronis True Image.  Acronis makes several hard drive utility programs and I find them VERY useful.  Making partitions, resizing partitions, cloning drives, making a recovery partition, etc.  Acronis is the way to go.  I set it so that as the computer is posting you can hit F11 and it goes into a versions of Acronis True Image and you can restore your selected partition through that.  Usually I set it to make a mirror once a week.  If you need any help send me a PM and I'll hook you up.
