interesting as in we could have used him instead of letting him transfer out?

I think he made the right decision-- he was never going to get the touches he got Morgan State. I wish him well.

I don't know about the same amount of touches, but he could've been useful.

Let me know if any team picks up Ben Williams.

At the time, it appeared as though Ricky Ponton would be taking over. Ponton had a lot of promise, and could have been a great replacement for Hall. It didn't pan out, but Simpson made his decision based on that I am sure.

I wish him well, and as you said, BBQ probably won't get picked up, but think of the stats he could have racked up at a smaller school (or UCF and the C-USA defenses). If Simpson stayed and split carries, he would 100% be looking for a job or working on finishing his degree this summer, not getting a shot to play for the Colts.

Ben Williams in the NFL? Pat Julmiste had a better chance.

yes-- my point exactly-- even with Ponton out of the picture, Simpson would still have to share rushes with a ton of players, including Grothe. He was the man at Morgan State. He got his feature time and lots of film for the NFL scouts. Without that, odds are small that he advances further-- short of a complete turnaround at USF in how he was going to be used.

as for Ben-- I can see him excelling in the arena league somehow-- he's got that low center of gravity thing that might work well there

Whenever I hear of Chad Simpson...I think of the UL game in '05...second half kickoff return.

I still get chills.

That was undoubtedly one of the most exciting moments of an electric game...
