OFFENSE

Player of the Year

RB Kwamaine "Bubba" Brown, Kissimmee Osceola, Sr., 5-9/188

Buzz: Runner-up in Florida Mr. Football voting carried 294 times for 2,405 yards and tied state record with 44 TDs. Has visits set to Kansas State (Jan. 25) and Auburn (Feb. 2), and if he manages to qualify academically, offers will pour in. Butler Community College of Kansas is a fall-back option.

First team

QB Jeremy Gallon, Apopka, Jr., 5-9/160

Buzz: Elusive doesn't begin to describe him. Kept ball 219 times for 1,613 yards and 23 TDs. A 63.6 percent passer (56-for-88) with no INTs for 1,071 yards and 8 TDs.

RB Jeremiah Schwartz, Edgewater, Sr., 5-11/232

Buzz: Power-back churned out 1,683 yards, 15 TDs on 223 carries. Also added 102 yards and 3 TDs on 8 receptions. Orally committed to Iowa State.

RB Jeff Demps, South Lake, Sr., 5-10/180

Buzz: State track champ ran for 1,401 yards to total 4,727 with 58 TDs for his career. Announced his college commitment to Florida on Wednesday.

WR O'Neill Chambers, Harmony, Sr., 6-3/205

Buzz: Had 39 catches for 965 yards and 10 TDs, and also lined up at other positions, including QB. Has visited Purdue and scheduled trips to Florida and BYU.

WR Damion Allen, Dr. Phillips, Sr., 6-3/175

Buzz: Big-play specialist had 38 catches for 600 yards and nine TDs. Totaled 12 TDs vs. tough schedule for 7-5 playoff team. Orally committed early to Auburn.

OL Clayton Berry, Deltona, Sr., 6-5/335

Buzz: Wolves hitched wagon to a road grader and improved from 2-8 to 8-3. Berry made state North-South game and is considering East Carolina, Iowa State, New Mexico State.

OL Mike Brewster, Edgewater, Sr., 6-5/305

Buzz: USA Today first-team All-American lived up to billing with no sacks allowed. Also played defense in spots. Orally committed early to Ohio State.

OL Kevin Halverson, Lake Brantley, Sr., 6-2/260

Buzz: Savvy blocker for run-oriented, option-offense team that went 22-4 in his final two seasons. Graded out at 92 percent with 37 pancake blocks. May go NAIA.

OL Nick Kemper, Lake Howell, Sr., 6-4/ 275

Buzz: Son of Silver Hawks head coach is a center who combined football smarts with tenacity. Orally committed to Miami of Ohio, where Dad played.

OL Byron King, Boone, Sr., 6-0/305

Buzz: Three-year starter was the anchor of offensive line for 6A state runner-up. Looking at NCAA D-II St. Augustine's of North Carolina.

Ath Chris Perry, Lake Howell, Sr., 5-9/180, Sr.

Buzz: One man wrecking crew of a QB kept ball 281 times for 2,112 yards and 24 TDs and passed for 372 yards and 4 TDs. Orally committed to Troy State last week.

K Matt McCutcheon, Port Orange Spruce Creek, Sr., 6-0/182

Buzz: Set a record for field goals made in current Sentinel coverage area by going 14-of-19 with long of 51 yards. Key component of region runner-up.

Buzz: Burly run-stopper had 87 tackles, 51 assists and eight sacks and has been described by veteran Coach Phil Ziglar as the best interior defensive lineman he ever has had. Early commitment to USF broke off, but Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Tennessee and Western Kentucky are showing interest.

First team

DL Johnny Butts, Lake Brantley, Sr., 6-4/255

Buzz: Racked up 75 tackles, including 17 for loss and eight sacks for a 9-2 district-title team. Also two fumble recoveries. Playing catch-up academically and may go JUCO route.

DL Kasey Smith, Daytona Beach Seabreeze, Sr., 6-3/250

Buzz: 65 tackles as disruptive inside force. East defensive MVP in Central Florida All-Star game. Visit list: FIU, Middle Tennessee St., W. Kentucky, Ga. Southern.

LB Phillip Bailey, Mainland, Jr., 6-0/228

Buzz: Latest in long line of stellar Bucs linebackers totaled 120 tackles, 16 for loss, and eight sacks. One of Florida's top prospects in Class of 2009.

LB Pat Lambert, Kissimmee Osceola, Sr., 6-1/190

Buzz: State runner-up in tackles with 105 stops, 81 assists, six sacks, 14 tackles for loss. Committed early to Cincinnati and sticking with it.

LB Danny Trevathan, Leesburg, Sr., 6-3/215

Buzz: Led 8-3 district-title team with 70 solo tackles, 47 assists, seven for loss, 5.5 sacks. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kentucky lead recruitment.

DB Jeremy Brown, Boone, Sr., 5-10/175

Buzz: Nine interceptions, 29 tackles on defense and 33 catches for 568 yards, four TDs as a receiver. Hustled to graduate early to start classes at UF this week.

DB Akeem Dunham, Eustis, Sr., 6-3/180

Buzz: Led area in interceptions with 12 and Lake County in receptions with 32 (for 610 yards and eight TDs) to evolve from basketball standout to two-sport prospect.

DB Mitch McGrath, Lake Brantley, Sr., 6-3/190

Buzz: Valued as safety (73 tackles) but also as top receiver, return man and leader for 9-2 district title team. Committed to Furman, may get basketball looks.

DB Derrick Clark, Apopka, Sr., 6-3/180

Buzz: One of the state's Class 6A interception leaders with 10 for a 12-2 team. Also had 38 tackles, two TDs on four receptions and shared punting duties.

P Justin Brockhaus-Kann, Winter Springs, Sr. 6-3/245

Buzz: Averaged 44.6 yards per punt and also kicked off and graded out high as a tight end. Orally committed to South Florida.

UT T'Sharvan Bell, Kissimmee Osceola, Sr., 6-1/175

Buzz: Leader racked up 72 tackles and 5 interceptions, and ran and passed for 1,536 yards and 17 TDs as QB. Orally committed to Auburn.

UT Billy Giovanetti, Bishop Moore, Sr., 5-11/205

Buzz: Every-down workhorse carried the ball 203 times for 1,294 yards and 15 TDs and had 85 tackles, three fumble recoveries and two INTs as LB.

This is just a small section of Florida smazza, I thought we were supposed to be attracting all the nationwide All-Americans, not Central Florida area football players.  Do you know how funny you sound?

This is just a small section of Florida smazza, I thought we were supposed to be attracting all the nationwide All-Americans, not Central Florida area football players.  Do you know how funny you sound?

Yeah and the orlando daytona area is a decent region for football but no where near as good as Miami, Jacksonville, Tampa/Lakeland area, or even the panhandle which pumps out a ton of quality players.

USF never took Allen's verbal.  They are higher on several other DTs.

Mike Lanaris on 2d team LB is also verballed to USF.
