Both teams ran a spread offense, both teams had (allegedly) had a stud running back who could flourish in the one back set....clearly, the difference was creativity in the offensive play calling. Why were Oregon's guys running in wide-open space, play after play, with basically the same spread offense that our guys couldn't even separate for a 3 yard run or a 7 yard out? no bubble screens, no wide-out around fakes in the normal set, zero creativity for us, all for them. It was embarassing, but frankly gave me hope that our spread offense can work, but we just have the wrong guy in place. Get Gregory out, get a real thinking and coaching coach in there, and we'll be fine, for the most part, with the exception of the "quit" in the defense, which I'm praying for was a once in a lifetime sin.thoughts? We never pressured Stewart or Roper, while Grothe and Ford had players on them all day. We were beaten old school Big 10 style by a Pac 10 speed team.
