Team USA's quarterfinal mission, a Thursday matchup with undefeated Spain, appears to be a difficult one. However, Yahoo! Sports' Steve Kerr says the Americans will be underdogs on paper only when they battle Pau Gasol and company.

If they can beat Spain... all of a sudden things look good for them... no one is playing better than Spain at this point.

USA basketball winning would involve several players being able to shoot.  And so far no more than one or two players have been able to make shots in any given game.  One game AI will get hot, one game Jefferson will get hot, Lebron (in his limited playing time), etc.... but they havent really put it all together yet.  And unfortunately I dont see them doing it soon enough.
