That's because their OOC schedule was easier than Paris Hilton, they should have lost to Temple if not for a blown call, and they were the most overrated team in the Big East.

UConn sucks.

They wouldn't have gotten nearly the amount of attention they did if they had lost to Temple...oh wait they did but the refs screwed that up. And the refs blew the Louisville game so in all actuality, Uconn should be 4-3 conference and 8-4 overall.

I think it is more an issue of how they won and how they lost. USF's wins were generally clear wins, except for FAU none ended on a controversial call. USF's losses were all close and some could argue they ended or were determined by controversial calls. USF lost to the middle of road teams in conference, UC lost to similar teams but except for virginia got blown out by opponents. UC lost to the lower half of the conference despite winning against the upper middle of the conference. So despite having the head to head, they just weren't as impressive since they didn't have USF's OOC schedule.

You have to look at how bad a team's losses were, in addition to looking at the goodness of their wins.  Both USF and UCONN only suffered losses to bowl-bound teams.  That's not the case with Cincy.

Not as pissed as Cincinnati

When this week is over.  UC may be slated to go to the Pizza Bowl without a coach.  I truly feel sorry for them.  They deserve so much better.

Who do you feel sorry for?  their fans or the team?  Feel a little bad for their team, but definitely noth ther fans.  They show almost no aupport there.  Their fan support is so poor there the local media did not even feel the need to send coverage to the media day.  Wehn D'antonio left for MSU he ripped the fan base because of their poor support.

It's the same logic that  continues to say that a 2 loss USC and 2 loss LSU are the best teams in the country.  If you look at the entire body of work over the course of the season USF was clearly the 2nd best team in the BE.  3 plays away from being undefeated.  We should have been undefeated, but didn't get it done on the fleld.  We were clearly better than the other teams and the Sun bowl recognized that.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
