Turnovers will be a factor but not a huge one.  Syracuse will pound it on the ground and then pass when they get respect (if any).  USF will attack the line and stuff the run - mainly.

USF will then open up with some trickery - 2 or 3 plays (throwbacks and wide out for long passes).

Bulls get the W but not easily.

Anything less than a UCF type beatdown will hurt our bowl chances at this point.  Yeah, we'll get one, but it will suck unless we get "sexy" again and finish extremely strong so folks think we'll come out guns blazing in 2008.  If we struggle the rest of the way, we'll start 2008 just outside the top 25 which will kill us no matter how well we do next year as you can bet there won't be as many upsets on top teams and folks will dismiss our wins from this season as flukes due to our 3 loss slide.

Not too mention we've lost all recruiting momentum I would imagine...

We don't need a UCF type beatdown of Syracuse, as long as it doesn't come down to the last drive of the game we should be fine. Although a butkicking wouldn't hurt we don't exactly need any more fals confidence this year. Much more important is winning the next 3.

Never under estimate the power of a admirable FOE.  The Cuse is now just plain Orange (no more men).  Frankly, they did much better when they were Orangemen.

Cuse keep it close with the back-up QB (he is not too bad).  Leavit should consider a back up too.  Fire the OC!

We're tied for 35th in scoring offense, ahead of USC, Michigan, BC, Georgia, Rutgers, Wisconsin, etc.  That despite having 3 WRs out (including Erskin), Bogan hurt for much of a game with those others out, several offensive linemen out, playing freshmen WRs and RBs, and Grothe making more mistakes than usual in the last 3 (partly do to these other problems).  And yet, let's fire the OC.  We're scoring about 7-10 ppg more than last year if I remember Greg's stats right.  I thought we could have run some better plays in the 2nd half against Rutgers and not called that QB bootleg against UConn, but come on.

Scoring 7-10ppg would be impressive if we actually were able to score decent amounts in the first place!!!  When you only put up the types of point totals we have with the TURNOVERS we've had, the OC is not getting it done.

You want to know how to judge an offensive coordinator?  Look at the POINTS OFF TURNOVERS....Not scoring off a turnover is a KILLER to team morale and especially a defense.  Especially with all the 3 and outs and immediate RE-TURNOVERS we've had following a takeaway.

Not executing points off turnovers early in the season means alot more plays and injuries to starters and fatigue that comes back to bite you later in the year.  You've seen it first hand with how much slower our defense has looked and the lack of pressure we've put on teams the last 3 weeks.  Had we scored on even half of the turnovers in the first 6 games, our starters would've been out of every one of those games at least a quarter.  You put six quarters together and not only do you cut a game and a half off the season for them; but your gain an extra game and a half of playing time to develop your depth so there's not such a big dropoff when a starter does go down.

That's why we lost the last 3 guys.  This team is WHIPPED physically on defense and the sad thing is, it shouldn't have to be.  They played better than anyone in the country early and the offense overexposed them and no amount of rest now between games will get that back at this point.

Yes, fire the OC.  Simply but, to avoid all the chatter - Gregory is not an improvement over Smith.  Actually, we may have acted a bit to hastily in the selection.  However, give Leavitt  his peeps b/c he did repay an ole mid-western (Iowa State) colleague.  Get over it.

Pretty please with a cherry on top:  FIRE THE OC NOW AND GET OUT OF THIS MESS EARLY.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
