I know there is not much good to take out of last night but while everyone else is screaming apocalypse I just wanted to mention two things:

1.  Mike Jenkins - I said in the other thread... he was a COMPLETELY different player from the last two weeks.  Best game I have ever seen him play.  Someone must have gotten on him, and I'm glad they did.

2.  Dontavia Bogan - Had he not gotten hurt he would have continued to shine.  Looks promising.

3.  Carlton Mitchell - He had one bad drop, but Grothe obviously trusts him because he threw it to him for a completion on the next play.

Bogan & Mitchell > Amarri & TJ

Feel free to add while the rest of the world is collapsing around us.

Defensively we looked much better at least after the 1st qtr.

We tackled much better this game.

We stopped the running back, if not the running quarterback.

We stopped them on 3rd down.

Why is Carlton Mitchell not mentioned as a positive?

Mitchell also dropped the potential game-winning TD.

I've been saying it all year, but Bogan's going to be a stud.  I really like how this kid looks so far.

Although I'm not really in the mood to be positive, and to be honest, there's no reason to be positive right now.  We have played horrible and lost three consecutive games, when we should have won all three.  Our team has given up, and are not playing like they care about the rest of the season.

Oh We also started trying to play in the 2nd quarter, that's an improvement over waiting for the first half to be over.

I have to give him a break for that one.  I was really impressed with him taking the reigns like that in this game.

In other notes, yes Bogan was also rocking.  It will be interesting once TJ gets back in the game because some of these other guys are already stepping up.

I dont think you can say that they are better players than Taurus Johnson right now. TJ has the experience and leadership that we are now missing from the WRs. Face it, our team is not as sharp without those key players due to injury.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
