the ball hit the ground at the 1:00 mark of the video...that still counts?....is it like it was a fumble? i'm not sure of the rules with laterals

My understanding is that it would be treated as a fumble since it wasn't a forward pass (which would have caused the play to be blown dead).

all "laterals" that are not forward are always live.  From pee wee to NFL.
