Interesting NYTimes article from 12/22/2002

This is an article published in the NY Time by Michael Sokolove in 2002. For those alumni and fans from the beginning of the program this article will bring back some memories. For the newer alumni and fans it will give some perspective to how far the program has come.  Another interesting feature about the article is to see how much has changed:

• Frank Borkowski at Appalachian State University
  
• USF beating #25 Bowling Green (Coached by Urban Meyer, not mentioned in the article)
  
• The Rutgers 1,000 who wanted Rutgers to move out of the Big East
  
• Jim Leavitt's mentality and focus has not changed over the years

I think the NYT (though a lower poll) was one of the first sub-polls to rank USF in their top 25?  Anyhow this was a nice flashback article.
