Week 6 -- FINAL

1) USF's Game

SAT 10/06 - #6 USF 35  (5-0, 1-0) at Florida Atlantic 24  (3-3, 2-0)

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2006 schedule.

FRI 10/05 - Utah 44  (3-3, 0-2) at Louisville 35  (3-3, 0-1)

SAT 10/06 - #13 West Virginia 55  (5-1, 1-1) at Syracuse 14  (1-5, 1-1)

SAT 10/06 - #27 Miami, FL 27  (4-2, 1-1) at North Carolina 33  (2-4, 1-2)

SAT 10/06 - Vanderbilt 7  (3-2, 1-2) at #29 Auburn 35  (4-2, 2-1)

SAT 10/06 - Elon 38  (3-2, 1-1) at Western Carolina 36  (1-5, 0-2)

SAT 10/06 - #20 Cincinnati 28  (6-0, 1-0) at #21 Rutgers 23  (3-2, 0-1)

SAT 10/06 - #35 UCF 38  (3-2, 1-1) at ECU 52  (3-3, 2-1)

IDLE: #36 Connecticut (5-0, 1-0), Pittsburgh (2-3, 0-1)

3) Games involving Notre Dame because of its ties to Big East bowl games.

SAT 10/06 - Notre Dame 20  (1-5) at #30 UCLA 6  (4-2, 3-1)

NOTE: With the next two games for Notre Dame - vs Boston College, vs USC - chances are Notre Dame will not be bowl eligible.  Once Notre Dame is not eligible, we won't need to watch their games.

4) Games involving at least one team ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #6 USF, #13 West Virginia

THU 10/04 - #8 Kentucky 23  (5-1, 1-1) at #11 South Carolina 38  (5-1, 3-1)

SAT 10/06 - #5 Wisconsin 26  (5-1, 2-1) at #28 Illinois 31  (5-1, 3-0)

SAT 10/06 - Bowling Green 24  (3-2, 1-0) at #7 Boston College 55  (6-0, 3-0)

SAT 10/06 - #10 Oklahoma 28  (4-1, 1-1) at #19 Texas 21  (4-2, 0-2)

SAT 10/06 - #12 Georgia 14  (4-2, 2-2) at Tennessee 35  (3-2, 1-1)

SAT 10/06 - #9 Florida 24  (4-2, 2-2) at #1 LSU 28  (6-0, 2-0)

SAT 10/06 - #4 Ohio State 23  (6-0, 3-0) at #23 Purdue 7  (5-1, 1-1)

SAT 10/06 - Stanford 24  (2-3, 1-3) at #2 Southern California 23  (4-1, 2-1)

5) Games involving a Top 12 non-BCS team, or a Top 16 non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

No Mid-Major Team is ranked in the Top 12 or ahead of the lowest BCS conference leader (#7 Kentucky).  Highest ranked non-BCS team: #16 Hawaii

SUN 10/07 - Utah State 37  (0-6, 0-2) at #16 Hawaii 52  (6-0, 3-0)

6) Other games of interest, including teams ranked near USF.

USF is #6 in the AP poll.

SAT 10/06 - NC State 10  (1-5, 0-3) at #27 Florida State 27  (3-1, 0-1)

SAT 10/06 - #15 Virginia Tech 41  (5-1, 2-0) at #22 Clemson 23  (4-2, 2-2)

SAT 10/06 - #25 Nebraska 6  (3-2, 1-1) at #17 Missouri 41  (5-0, 1-0)

IDLE: #3 California (5-0, 2-0), #14 Oregon (4-1, 1-1)

Ranks used are AP rankings.
