Here are a few links with players, from big time schools, who have also gotten in trouble. In no way am I condoning or approving of any of their situations, it just means that we arent alone with our problems...

Alabama CB: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2981774

Two WVA Players: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2982682

Two Iowa Receivers: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2983050

ND QB Clausen: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2983275

UCONN Players: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2977921

Woody George screwed up, but he shouldn't be hung for it...

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't help thinking the cops always seem to be around ready to pounce on these athletes.

It's just wierd - I've exercised some pretty "poor judgement" on occasion, yet never had to tangle with the law and read about it

in the papers. Most of us have. So what gives? Do these kids have a target on their backs?  :-\

Thats what it seems like. Maybe it is a pride thing for the local police to say they arrested a ball player. I've had plenty of classes with athletes, and if you arent a sports junkie and know the rosters up and down, you would never know the student-athletes are in the class.

I think it's a two-way street. Maybe the cops get excited to arrest a football player, but I bet many of the players getting arrested thought they'd never get caught or punished because they're football players.

Why don't you, average citizen, park illegally numerous times so the cops put a city parking boot on your car.....then take the boot off and throw it out.......lets see if you get in trouble.  Do you think they didnt take his license plate and information down when the put the boot on???

This isnt an instance where the cops had a target on his back, this is an instance of absolute stupidity.  If he was a 90 year old woman she would have gotten in trouble.  I cant believe a college student didnt think he would get in trouble for that!  ???

It just seams that way because you hear about it.
