is the most overrated coach in history of sports. He mailed this coaching job in as larry brown pulled every string right, Phil sat back with his stoned look and didnt do a thing.  Great job Detroit for beating a much more talented, heartless team.

There is very little "coaching" in the NBA. It's pretty much street ball, and talent rules the day. You or I could manage the Lakers to at least the conference semi-finals, while a staff of Phil Jackson, Pat Riley and Red Auerbach wouldn't get Washington over 30-52.

Coaching in the NBA is about being an ego manager and getting the most out of your talent, and to that end Jackson is a career-long success. I can think of more overrated coaches than him.

I can think of better too... and Larry Brown is on the top of that list.

Overrated! Overrated! Absolutely. The fact that he's had two of the top 5 players in the league on the Lakers and yet still couldnt win the championship the past two years shows that he's a fraud. Yes good coach, but not great.
