What's wrong with the way things were ("uhh" and "oh"?  When in doubt, use the "KISS" approach:

K - keep

I - it

S - simple

S - stupid!

I'm not a naysayer; I just happen to follow the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude.  Three big groups of people all yelling three different things sounds like "MUMURKLE!" and really makes us look like scalp schleppers.
