Well... there is no sophomore slump for the Manassas, VA, native. Cristi Ecks has a 0.30 ERA and the **** thing is getting lower by the game. For those people that don't care to watch softball too much, I encourage you to see her throw at least one game this year. At UCLA last season in the NCAA tourney, she pitched as high as 68 mph. UCLA's hurler was topping out at 64 mph. This girl is a gem... they don't come that often. She has the tools to carry us through a tourney. She could get us our first major NCAA tourney championship (not discounting the swimming one in the 80's).When I think of Ecks, her feats parallel those of Len Bias, Glen Robinson, Michael Vick, etc. She's a headturner when she plays. You have to see this girl throw. She's a hitter's worst nightmare when she's on the mound. I'm bummed out that the girl's aren't on the West coast this season. I would definitely fly to see them play. Catch this girl... when she leaves, we'll be hard pressed to find an East coast player that can replace what she brought to the table.
