Okay.  After YET ANOTHER 2nd half meltdown, I am convinced this team does not have the ability to do what it takes to make the Big East Tournament... but if there are ANY true believers left out there who will hope against hope and pray on their knees night and day... I wanted to spell out what the mathematical chances are:

USF 3-10 has to win out to even have a chance, @ Seton Hall, at home vs Providence, @ Depaul... I don't really expect that to happen, but it technically could...

As for the rest of the Big East...

Cincinnati (1-10) and Rutgers (3-10) are clearly not going to be in the Top 12.

That means only two more teams will be left out.

Seton Hall (3-9) looks like it will be one of those staying home. They have games left at WVU, at L'ville, and against Pittsburgh.  They also play Cincy.  Their remaining game is at home against USF.

Connecticut (5-7) could lose out and USF could catch the Huskies... and it's not totally out of the question... first, they have a trip to Georgetown.  But they play at Rutgers, and get Villanova, and Louisville at home. Can Rutgers AND Nova both pull the upset? I don't think so. [Predicted record: 6-10]

Providence (6-6) is still within the Bulls' sights.  They play at home against Syracuse and West Virginia and @ St. John's.  The key game could be the Friar's visit to USF.  [Predicted record: 6-10]

These are the only teams USF could catch...

- U Conn (if U Conn loses all games, and USF wins all games)

- Providence (if Providence loses all games, USF wins all games)

I'd say the odds are one in a billion... but as Lloyd Christmas said... "There's a chance..."

Predicted Order of Finish:

1 Pittsburgh 13-3

2 Georgetown 12-4

3 Marquette 11-5

4 West Virginia 10-6

5 Notre Dame 9-7

6 Louisville 9-7

7 Syracuse 9-7

8 Depaul 8-8

9 Villanova 7-9

10 Providence 7-9

11 Connecticut 6-10

12 St. John's 6-10

13 South Florida 4-12

14 Seton Hall 4-12

15 Rutgers 3-13

16 Cincinnati 1-15

Slim is so slim right now that he makes Kate Moss look more like Kirsty Alley, and I really do not want to visualize how fat Slim makes Kirsty Alley look.
