what we run affects if we win or not.

look at it this way... no matter way we do, Grothe will still be able to run.  we'll probably run almost a similar offense, but it will be much much much much much more effective now that grothe can actually option the ball to a RB.  the more balance we have with pass and run (grothe's ability and ford's ability), the more that the spread option will open up holes in the line and in the secondary.

on a side note, did anyone else hear that sigh of relief from grothe?  i think he would have had to put on about 15 lbs this offseason just to survive the total whoring of the qb draw that rod was in love with.

rod seems to love whoring one play over and over ie.- last year's whoring of running the hb up the middle with andre.

yes except now you have a real RB and it will make grothe  even better.

we may ave more points this year and we will be able to control the clock with a solid or better run game

We need to run a conventional offense.  Also, I hope we don't run a shotgun spread offense.  Running a shotgun as part of a balaned offense is fine, of course, but I hope we don't run a shotgun-heavy offense.  The reason for this is because from all reports I have heard is that while ford is quick, his acceleration isn't the best, and it takes him longer to get to full speed than someone like Andre was.  The extra few steps he will get running out of a traditional backfield will be a great help to him.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
