Could Mike Ford = 2007 Big East Champions?

Frankly, I can do without the suspense.   I'd rather know NOW whether we have him or not.  LOL

If USF lands Ford, we need to stop talking BE championship and start talking National title.  If he does come, 2007 will be the first season USF will have a legitimate shot at a National Championship.

i wouldnt' go that far... it is tough enough for a big east team to have a chance at the national title game just due to the human polls... human polls would not vote us into a title game unless we were completely dominant and probably would take a few years of that to get the name recognition.

Twilly, I don't think that is a realistic scenario, although we would all love it.  Yes, we could conceivably win the Big East, but we still wouldn't be rated high enough in 2007 to be considered for the NC.  2008 would be a more realistic date for the national title battle.

BE next year, then talk NC maybe the next year or MG's Senior year.

If you go undefeated through a BCS schedule, you WILL get to the NC game... no if's and's or but's about it.  The real question is, will USF have a chance at beating every team on their schedule next year.  If Ford comes, the answer is ABSOLUTELY.  It may be a boxer's chance so to speak, but realisitically, this team will have a shot at it.

Hopeful, but  being in that game doesn't guarantee that he will be academically eligible come the fall, so I will wait and see.
