It would appear that the Big Ten and SEC will have an open slot because they will get two selections into the BCS. These slots will be in the Motor City and Independence Bowl respectively.2. There is an open slot in the Poinsettia Bowl, as Army will probably not reach 6 wins.3. It appears that the ACC will not have 8 eligible teams, leaving an opening in the MPC Computers Bowl.4. There could be two additional possible open slots if there are a couple of upsets - both the Big 12 and Big Ten slots in the Insight Bowl.5. For the four to six above open slots, there will only be 6 eligible teams:South Florida or CincinnatiUtahKent State/Ohio LoserBowling GreenNorthern IllinoisLouisiana LafayetteThus, for the 64 slots I am projecting 64-66 eligible teams.See the Detailed Analysis thread for more specific information.
