Big David "Poppy" Ortiz who came in 5th in AL MVP voting last year does not get his name on the all-star ballot.  How the hell can you overlook the #3 hitter on the best baseball team in the majors.

he'll be earning respect by the all star break... he's had 3 homers in the last 7 days.

The guy is a stud and is by far the best DH in MLB.

I'm happy he's on our team, for sure.

Is Giambi and his .136 (or whatever it was through April) batting average on the ballot?

Did the ballot even have DH's on it... i dont' recall seeing that category... can always write him in... he would have won MVP probably had he played all year last year... his #'s were incredible for a half season.

I dont know if DH s on ballot but DH's find their way on anyway as Rdgar Martinez and Frank Thomas would be listed as 1B and Ortiz actually plays 1B quite a bit.  Ortiz played 45 games at 1B last year and I agree that if he polayed everyday from game 1 last year he might have been MVP.
