Four games on now involving teams on USF's schedule.

Week 6 -- UPDATED

1) USF's Game

Sat 10/07 - Connecticut (2-2, 0-0) @ USF (3-2, 0-1) - [MidAtlantic SportsNet / ABC 28 / ESPN Gameplan]

2) Games involving one or more schools on USF's 2006 schedule.

Obviously we should follow these games.

Wed 10/04 - Central Florida 23 (2-3, 1-1) @ Marshall 22 (1-4, 0-1)

Fri 10/06 - #8 Louisville 44 (5-0, 0-0) @ Middle Tennessee State 17 (3-3, 2-0)

Sat 10/07 - Pittsburgh 7 (4-1, 1-0) @ Syracuse 0 (3-2, 0-0) - Early 2nd Quarter [big East GOTW / ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 10/07 - North Carolina 0 (1-3, 0-2) @ Miami (FL) 7 (2-2, 0-1) - Early 2nd Quarter [Raycom / ESPN Gameplan]

Sat 10/07 - Texas A&M (0 4-1, 0-1) @ Kansas 10 (3-2, 0-1) - Early 2nd Quarter [FSN]

Sat 10/07 - #4 West Virginia (4-0, 0-0) @ Mississippi State (1-4, 0-3) - 2:30pm

Sat 10/07 - Akron (2-3, 0-2) @ Cincinnati (2-3, 0-1) - 3:30pm [ESPN 360]

Sat 10/07 - Florida International (0-5, 0-2) @ North Texas (1-4, 0-1) - 7:00pm

Sat 10/07 - Southern Utah (3-1, 0-0) @ McNeese State (1-3, 0-0)

IDLE: #24 Rutgers (5-0, 1-0)

3) Games involving Notre Dame and Navy, because of their ties to Big East bowl games.

We want Notre Dame to do very well and Navy to not be bowl eligible, to ensure more open slots for Big East teams.

Sat 10/07 - Navy (4-1) @ Air Force (2-1, 2-0) - 2:00pm [CSTV]

Sat 10/07 - Stanford (0-4, 0-2) @ #12 Notre Dame (4-1) - 2:00pm [NBC]

4) Games involving teams two ranked teams and at least one of the teams is ranked higher than the 2nd highest Big East team.

If the highest and 2nd highest teams can move up and up the polls, then there is at least a chance that 2 Big East teams could make the 10 BCS slots.  Big East ranks: #4 West Virginia; #8 Louisville.

Sat 10/07 - #7 Texas (4-1, 1-0) @ #14 Oklahoma (3-1, 0-0) - 3:30pm [ABC]

Sat 10/07 - #9 LSU (4-1, 1-1) @ #5 Florida (5-0, 3-0) - 3:30pm [CBS]

5) Games involving a Top 15 non-BCS team, or a non-BCS team ranked higher than any BCS conference's highest ranked team.

If no teams from the non-BCS conferences make the BCS, then that would mean 4 at-large slots in the 5 BCS bowls.  This increases the chances for 2 Big East teams to be selected.

NONE -- Highest ranked non-BCS team is #20 Boise State; Lowest rank of a conference-leading team is # 15 Clemson (ACC).

6) Other games of interest.

Sat 10/07 - #13 Tennessee (4-1, 0-1) @ #10 Georgia (5-0, 2-0) - 8:00pm [ESPN]

Sat 10/07 - #11 Oregon (4-0, 2-0) @ #16 California (4-1, 2-0) - 8:00pm [ABC]

BIG QUESTION:  with navy beating air force this year, a team that I thought was generally better than navy in recent years, is there a chance that navy gets a bowl bid better than the MCCB?
