Steve, I don't know how many recruits will have both USF and Rutgers on their list of favorites. I would tend to think it wouldn't be very many. There is plenty of time to get the players that we need. I would think things will begin picking up for us in late OCtober when we get our bye week and the coaching staff makes the big push with the guys we want.

I think the "Rutgers Rise" is mostly media hype.

They beat teams that most should beat, unfortunately us included.  AND they barely beat us (you could say we beat ourselves with the turnovers, but they did have a hand in causing them).

The NY based media is always looking for a new "Darling" to hype.  Right now Rutgers fits that mold.  Let's see how much following they have after Pitt, Louisville & W. Vir. THUMP them.  After that the media will be back to "Who's Rutger????"

Rutgers is like UCF last year...media darlings as they seem to emerge from the depths of the basement.

Look at UCF now.

Loot at Rutgers after they actually play a fully complemented Big East Team.  Beating us by two without a USF running game should send shivers up and down the spine of the Rutgers faithful.  That did not look like a #23 team.  Either they get a lot better real fast or they will no longer me the media darling UCF once was - their 15 minutes will be up.

I do agree that perception is a good deal to young kids. Is it "everything"? That might be a bit of a stretch. What if Rutgers stumbles and USF ends up in a better bowl game at the end of a season? There is plenty of football left to be played.
