Rebuilding smazza ?

How can you rebuild when you constantly have "top" recruits ... the spin stops here  ;D

This was Pete's 6th season and his recruits can't win the Big One ... program on the decline . . .

;D

Taken from the pete carroll thread

Im not one to defend smazza and his USC love but even with top recruiting classes you cant replace college players the caliber of Reggie Bush and Matt Lienart over night.  Those two were a HUGE key to USC's success over the last few years during their run.

To think you can replace players that were as dominant as Bush, White, and Lienart with people just as good is pretty unrealistic.  Yes i know that they did it with palmer and lienart but thats what most people saw as the amazing part and made them throw that OVERUSED D word around when talking about good schools/franchises in sports.  To say that USC should be as talented as they were last year when they lost two of the most dominant Div 1a football players that weve seen in the last 10 years is pretty laughable.  You can get all the 5 and 4 stars you want but college players (yes college success isnt related to prosuccess) but the Reggie Bush's of the world only come around ever so often and then there is no guarantee they will be from your region or have an interest in your school.  I KNOW you guys can do better in your taunts/smack!

As Smazza has always said,  A good team never loses a must win game against an inferior team.   I guess that means that USC is not a very good team according to Smazza.
