Alright it is very clear that our current backs are in no way going to make anything happen this year. So, and I know I have brought this before, why not try PJ at running back? He has the size and the knowledge of the offence and he is doing the team no good sitting on the sidelines. Pat is a very good athlete and we need to get him in the game some way just not at QB. If we don’t want to move PJ then why not Denson he also knows the O and is not racking up a lot of PT at CB. If you have any other ideas lets here it but something needs to change now because even with Ponton coming back in two weeks who knows when he will get out of CJL's dog house so we need a back up plan.

I agree, he's a pretty good runner.  We can't ask Grothe to beat teams alone... all we need is someone to pull some of the pressure off of him and the offense will rock.

The running game was the difference between the two teams last night.

He almost (thought he was going to) won the game alone last night.  He is the only thing we have going for us until Ricky Ponton comes back.

this has been brought before and it has been shot down.  PJ is our backup QB.  you dont play your backup QB at RB.  hes also not that fast or quick and got most of his rushing yards on broken down plays before.  I think grothe is a little faster, and even he wouldnt be good at just being RB.  it's a completely different running situation.  the QB always has a threat of passing

I feel like everyone is ignoring the big 400lb gorilla thats in the room blowing an air horn and shooting bottle rockets at you, the offensive line.  They are the ones that are killing the running game not the backs. When asked to open holes on designed plays and not a QB/RB zone read they fail miserably almost everytime.  With the way they are blocking right now it really doesnt matter who we have at RB there are no holes and we lose the battle at the LOS way more then we win it.  The o-line needs to step up or it wont matter when ponton comes back.  A good running game starts with the O-line not a good back.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
