Thoughts on play calling stats...

I was just curious as to what some of you think about the play calling based upon these stats.  

Down              RUN PASS Total

OVERALL.......... 25 15 40

1ST DOWN......... 11 5 16

2ND DOWN-SHORT... 2 0 2

2ND DOWN-MIDDLE.. 5 0 5

2ND DOWN-LONG.... 2 6 8

3RD DOWN-SHORT... 2 0 2

3RD DOWN-MIDDLE.. 1 1 2

3RD DOWN-LONG....  1 3 4

4TH DOWN.........       1 0 1

I think its pretty vanilla, which is how it should be after playing a 1AA team.  This week will be close to the same.  Once we start playing the bigger boys you'll see it change slightly.

Very conservative.  Some will say predictable.  Is that right - only 40 plays?

42 rushes and 21 pass attempts 63 total plays

The play calling will be more diverse as Grothe gets more experience. The coaches will have more confidence in his ability and will allow him to do more in the offense.

Look, I've been watching old games from when MB was running things: we are still calling the same plays. It's the same offense...

These are the 1st half playcalling stats.  That's why there are only 40 plays.
