WIth the new clock management. If your down by more than a score with even 5 minutes left you have no shot at comming back unless you throw 2 bombs for td's.

the coaches were against it both times it was voted on.  both times it was voted down, the comittee i guess wanted to try something new, and put it into action this year.  i hope they see what it is doing to the game, and will throw it away

Wasn't really a factor in the outcome of any game last night.  I think to calm everyone's fears, they should just institute the old rules during the last 2 or 3 minutes of each half.

Now I'm really confused.  Watching the Fresno-Nevada game....

Guy catches a pass makes the first down and runs out of bounds.  The game clock does not start with play clock which I thought the rule was when you made a first down even if you go out of bounds.  Does anyone understand this?

i think similar to the NFL...the clock stops if you run out of bounds in the 2nd and 4th qtr

Out of bounds keeps it stopped.  Man these new rules absolutely SUCK!!!  Games are barely 3 hours now, and man how does that change of posession/clock start just kills any hope a team may have for a comeback.  Expect lots of on-side kicks this season.

I'll be the first. I like the new rules and think they will benefit USF in games THIS YEAR. Lets give them a chance to see how they work before we love or hate them.
