They were Boston Patriots in the 60's when they entered tye league. The NFL is the best sports league in the world so I dont know what you are spouting off about.  The Boston Celtics have won more championships then any other nba team and won in the 80's with mr bird.  The bruins were the best team in NHL in 70's and one of best in 90's though edmonton won everything.  The sox are always in contention but cant win the big series.  You are jealous of boston but dont deny that they are one of top three sports cities in this country.  SF sucks and has two freaking teams that always blow as of late.  The 49ers used to be the benchmark and now they are the blueprint to avaoid and the Pats are the benchmark.  erickson is the worst coach in the nfl and the whole owens saga and rice/lott/montana fiascos at the end of their careers have scarred that franchise forever.  LA has the clippers and dodgers and kings who are pretty much the worst team in ther respective league.  NY has mets, knicks, rangers, islanders, giants, jets that all blow almost every year.  Please show me the city that competes with beantown for better sports.

That wasw in 2003.  In 2002, The Sporting News gave the "Best Sports City" award to Boston.
