John Carroll will only be with Boston next season if a new head coach wants him as an assistant says Danny Ainge.  

 

"John Carroll did a fantastic job for our team based on the situation he was given," Ainge said Monday after announcing that Carroll would not be promoted from interim coach and given a permanent job.

"In the right circumstances, at the right time and the right place, John Carroll is very qualified to coach in the NBA," Ainge said. "This is a time that we need to make a change."

Carroll was in his seventh season as a Celtics assistant coach when Jim O'Brien resigned on Jan. 27 over philosophical differences with Ainge

No cred? Why? He didnt hire the guy and wanted to have his own guy coaching.  If you are new to the situation Jim O'Brien resigned and Ainge kept Carrol on as interm coach. I read Boston papers everyday and Ainge never pretended that this guy would be given the permanaent job and Ainge said after Jim O left that he would start a coach search in offseason.  In same regard Carrol did do a pretty good job in an ugly situation and should be commended for it.

Steve has a hardon for anything out of beantown. He is jealous cuz all his teams suck. Most understand what interm means but Steve does not. And if you dont retain your INTERM coach you better not praise him and help him get future work, you need to say he sucked even though he brought team to playoffs but was wrong fit and not the bosses hire. Funny thing is if george steinbrenner fired every employee on yanks, smazz would spin it as a good thing and what a great exec steinny is.

Once again you talk out of your ass with no knowledge of what you are saying.  All the Boston teams are for all of the region as that is the only pro teams in New England.  Pats are formerly known as Boston Patriots and will always be considered a Boston team but since all of New England takes pride in all Boston teams it doesn't matter to the fans of which you are not!  I am not from Boston nor have I ever lived in Boston.  I lived closer to NYC then Boston.  Tell me Steve, where did the Pats have their victory parade twice if you know everything?  Is Golden State Warriors Califonia's team?
