'Bonds on Bonds' going on hiatus

By Jonathan Okanes

CONTRA COSTA TIMES

ESPN is temporarily suspending production of "Bonds on Bonds," the reality show chronicling the Giants star's life on and off the field. This week's show was moved from Tuesday to Thursday to accommodate the NBA playoffs. There will be one more show, a one-hour special on Memorial Day, and then the program will go on hiatus.

"We'll come back with a special edition at some point during the season," ESPN spokesman Rob Tobias said. "It could be at the end of the season, or it could be at the All-Star break. This was planned. We always talked about taking a hiatus of some kind."

Tobias said he hoped Bonds would hit career home run No. 715 before the Memorial Day special. One of the reasons for the hiatus is "there's a long way between 715 and 755," according to Tobias.

I never watched it, as much as I love baseball, I never cared to watch it. It's propaganda and the king of propaganda is unfortnately ESPN. These days anything the network says on it's TV, Radio, or in it's Magazine is taken literally by most people. Unfortnatley they are the influence in the sports world to fans, writers, and players.

I'm glad this show obviously got bad ratings, because it's shows like these that make ESPN look even stupider.

Look at who it was, I'm sure he'll order the DVD and relive every exciting moment.

Hey Steve... When you decide to buy it, make sure you look in the "sports" section of the DVD store and not the "adult" section...  ;D

"For me, I never considered it that way (as a stepping stone), honestly. When I was offered the head job at South Florida, and I'm sincere about this, I never thought I would ever go anywhere."

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
