Terrence Leather Named USF Basketball’s Team MVP

Tampa, Fla. — Terrence Leather, USF’s leading scorer and rebounder, was named the team’s John and Cynthia Ruzic Most Valuable Player Award recipient at the annual men’s basketball banquet tonight (Thursday, April 8) at the Sam and Martha Gibbons Alumni Center Traditions Hall.

Leather averaged 15.5 points and 8.4 rebounds-per-game and was a third-team All-Conference USA selection. He is just the eighth player in school history to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding.

Gerrick Morris was named USF’s Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 4.00 blocks-per-game. He was second among Conference USA blocked shot leaders and tied for third nationally. Morris, one of two USF seniors, blocked a school-record 108 shots in 2003-04 and a school-record 263 in his career.

Brian Graham was the winner of the Bull Pride Award, Bradley Mosley was named the Most Improved Player, and Brian Swift earned the Academic Award. Leather was also recognized as the top rebounder.

Morris earned the Richard K. and Rosalyn K. Wittcoff Endowed Scholarship Award. Swift earned the Wittcoff Family Endowed Scholarship Award. Mosley earned the Bill Jones Scholarship Award.

The evening included remarks from USF head coach Robery McCullum, and Lee Roy Selmon, president of the USF Foundation Partnership for Athletics, as well as the viewing of a highlight video capturing memorable moments from the season.

Whose the guy in the middle?  It don't look like LRS.  An BB assistant?

I remember having an argument with some anti-Sethite about who was the best player on the team.  He was saying that Moseley was and that all Seth's recruits were garbage.  I thought Leather was by far the best player last year.
