Parsons decommits

Lake Howell's Chandler Parsons announced an oral commitment to Florida State basketball last August, but with the Seminoles waffling on their end of that pledge, he has "decommitted" and reopened his search for a college destination.

"FSU was ecstatic the day I called to commit," Parsons said. "But after a while, they said they wanted to wait until the big guys of the '06 class made their decisions. I talked to my parents, and we felt like I should make sure other coaches knew I was available."

Parsons, a 6-foot-8 junior swing player, said he is being recruited by a long list of schools, including Miami, USF, UCF, Creighton, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. Parsons is averaging 18.3 points and 9.8 rebounds, and he is shooting 46 percent from 3-point range.
