SU hopes Gordon, Okafor enter NBA draft

If you can't beat them, hope for them to lose players.

I read this article earlier in the morning. The writer (Bob Mathews), seems to have a negative view on anything that has to do with the Cuse. He actually had Syracuse losing against every single team that they played last year enrout to their national championship, except Manhattan.

By the way the Cuse did beat Uconn this year. The 2 teams split their games this year with each winning on their home court.

Why would SU hope Okafor enters the draft?  he is a senior, so he won't be back anyhow.

Actually, Okafor is a junior. He's so intelligent that he was able to finish his Bachelors degree in finance in only 3 years.  He has another year left. But its not likely he will be back. After winning the BE tourn., a reporter asked him if he was planning to come back for 1 more year, he said "naah" and laughed.

hmmmph... coulda sworn he was a senior...

unfortunately for him, he is undersized at powerforward or center in nba.  He's got the strength for sure, and the instinct, and if elton brand can do it, okafor might be able to, but the odds are stacked against him.

Hopefully, the Magic will have the number one pick in the NBA draft to get Okafor.  Then pick up Dampier as a free agent to play center coupled with Okafor at Power Forward and T-Mac would make a nice trio!

Okafor is 6'10. He will make a perfect power forward in the NBA. I think he's 240Ibs.  He certainly has the the skills and he is a smart player. I dont know how he manages to block all of those shots and not be more foul trouble.
