Thanks for posting this! Vittoria was awful from deep in the first 2 games, going 3 for 23; however, she rebounded well in the final 2 games by hitting 11 of 19. I watched the game with her against Brazil; and based on what I saw, she seems like a solid player. She is listed on our roster as a guard, so I am not sure if she will see much action at the point. As a point guard, I would rate her slightly higher than Marina, who I think is a lot better than Aerial. I think Vittoria is a better shooter and scorer than Marina but not as good as a ball handler. As a 2 guard, I imagine that she will be behind Sammie and Janette.

Someone I am very high on is next year's recruit, Amy Thompson, who has mad skills as a ball handler and a 3pt shooter. I have watched a few of her games from her 3 years in high school. In her junior year, she played a lot heavier (looks like 20-30 lbs heavier) than her first 2 years in HS; and it looks like it affected her balance and ability to move. Hopefully, she gets more comfortable playing with the weight. However, her ball-handling, especially in traffic, is outstanding. I think her weakness is her scoring while driving to the basket. In doing so, she is inconsistent and she seems to sometimes make the wrong decision on what type of shot she should take. If she can improve this aspect of her game, we would be looking at a future All American. Even with her weaknesses, I would still rate her our number 1 guard if she were coming in this year.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
